Would you like to become a Digital Mentor and support people to improve their digital literacy skills and confidence? Do you work with older people and are looking for ways to support them to use digital devices?

Then you should become a Be Connected Digital Mentor!

The Place is excited to be delivering the Be Connected Digital Literacy Program and will be providing FREE training to become a Digital Mentor. As a Digital Mentor you will gain the skills and confidence to teach people over 50, digital literacy skills using provided resources.

To become a Digital Mentor you need to attend one day of FREE training on one of the dates above.

This is a wonderful opportunity and we welcome anyone over 18 years old who is interested in becoming a Digital Mentor to help family, friends or community groups. This training is particularly beneficial for anyone working with or supporting people over 50, such as those who work in aged care or the community sector.

We will also provide FREE ongoing training and support for all Digital Mentors, including on-call and outreach support, where we help mentors to deliver training to their own participants.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Get your FREE ticket through the Eventbrite link below:

The Place is proud to be the first community organisation in NSW to take part in the NSW Device Bank Pilot Program, supporting more people in our community to get connected and build confidence online. Through the program, we helped allocate 30 refurbished laptops to local people in our community, including seniors, carers, people with disability and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Participants receive 12 months of free data, digital skills training and IT Support to help them make the most of their device. Delivered by NSW Telco Authority in partnership with WorkVentures and Good Things Australia, the NSW Device Bank Pilot Program is part of the NSW Government’s Digital Inclusion Strategy. The program helps bridge the digital divide by giving people access to the essential technology, connectivity and support needed in today’s digital world. We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity for our local community and want to thank everyone who made it possible.
