Step Up & Dance - FREE Dance Workshop

Embrace the joy of dance with our FREE Step Up & Dance workshop these school holidays! Discover the power of different dance styles and forge new friendships in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Our workshops foster creativity and self-expression in a supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to shine.

No prior dance experience is required – just bring your enthusiasm and let loose! Led by the talented instructors at TMP Dance Studios, this dynamic workshop invites young people aged 12-18 on an exhilarating journey through various dance genres, from hip-hop to funk and commercial dance.

Over 2 exciting sessions on Tuesday 9th of July and Thursday 11th of July, from 1-4 pm, at the Place Charlestown Community Centre, participants will not only explore different dance techniques, but also develop essential skills like spatial coordination, flexibility, and teamwork.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided – just remember to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable attire and shoes.

About the Reclaiming My Place Project: Reclaiming My Place (RMP) is an innovative arts-based program developed by the Centre of Excellence for Equity in Higher Education (CEEHE) at the University of Newcastle. The program engages women who have lived experiences of gendered violence and interrupted education journeys, using creative arts to foster mindfulness, healing, relaxation, and pathways to lifelong learning.
