AI - What, How & Why? FREE Workshops for Over 50’s

Facilitated by The Place at Sugarvalley Neighbourhood Centre

Dates: Thursday 16th of July OR Thursday 30th July 2026

Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Location: Sugarvalley Neighbourhood Centre, 65 Carrington St, West Wallsend

The Place is excited to be taking our FREE AI Workshops for over 50’s to other community spaces in Lake Macquarie and Newcastle!

In July we’re running two sessions at Sugarvalley Neighbourhood Centre that will cover what AI really is and show you simple, practical and fun ways you can use it in daily life.

These workshops are relaxed and friendly, designed especially for over 50's. You’ll learn how AI can help with tasks such as finding information, planning activities or trips and exploring hobbies and interests. We'll also provide key tips for using AI safely.

Please bring your own device if you have one (phone, tablet or laptop). If you don’t have a device don't worry - we have devices available for you to use.

A light lunch and refreshments will also be provided.

To register complete our google form HERE or call The Place on (02) 4032 5500.

* Please note the content for both workshops will be the same *

What makes a great venue? According to our 5-star reviews, it's more than just quality facilities and a convenient location. It's the experience, the support, and the confidence that your event is in good hands. At The Place, we provide professional, flexible spaces for meetings, workshops, training sessions, community events and corporate functions. Our team works closely with organisers to ensure every event runs smoothly from start to finish. What makes us different is that every booking creates impact beyond the room itself. As a Social Enterprise, venue hire at The Place helps fund local community programs that reduce social isolation, build skills, strengthen connections and create opportunities for people across our region. So when you're planning your next meeting, workshop, training day or event, consider a venue that delivers value for you or your organisation while supporting meaningful outcomes in the community.
