Charlestown Square Tuesday Club Inclusive Connections

Extending a warm welcome to ALL seniors in Lake Macquarie & Newcastle

The Place Charlestown Community Centre is thrilled to introduce a new and inclusive era for the Charlestown Square Tuesday Club - After 46 years as a women’s social group, this cherished community gathering is expanding to welcome ALL seniors—women, men, gender-diverse individuals, and more members of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

Starting February 4, 2025, the Charlestown Square Tuesday Club Inclusive Connections provides a vibrant and welcoming space for seniors in Lake Macquarie and Newcastle to connect, laugh, and make lasting memories. Supported by the NSW Government and GPT Charlestown Square, and facilitated by The Place, this initiative celebrates diversity and inclusion while addressing social isolation.

Each Tuesday morning during school terms, attendees can look forward to a variety of engaging activities:

· Cultural demonstrations and exchange activities, featuring traditions, foods, and arts from diverse backgrounds.

· Interactive games and group challenges to spark fun and connection.

· Creative arts and crafts workshops to inspire and energize participants.

· Guest speakers and wellness sessions, offering insights and activities to promote physical and emotional well-being.

Intergenerational projects, bridging the gap between seniors and younger generations.

And, of course, enjoy a delicious, all-inclusive morning tea, featuring a variety of treats to suit all tastes—a perfect way to relax and chat with new friends.

For just $6 per week, you can access all these wonderful activities and enjoy a morning filled with connection, learning, and laughter.

Mark your calendar for Tuesdays from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at The Place Charlestown Community Centre.

Fully accessible with nearby parking and public transport, the venue ensures everyone can participate comfortably.
