The NSW Seniors Festival is making a grand return, promising a vibrant week packed with entertaining and cost-free events tailored for the young-at-heart individuals seeking connections and avenues for creative expression. Here at The Place, we've meticulously curated a series of complimentary events sure to enchant our senior community with their distinctive themes.


Upcycled Bottle Art Workshop 

Date: Monday 11th March 2023

Time: 11 am – 2 pm


Our Upcycled Bottle Art Workshop will provide seniors with the opportunity to explore their creative side. This hands-on workshop will help you transform ordinary glass bottles into works of art through upcycling techniques. Guided by a local artist Kelvin Dsouza, you will learn the art of repurposing and gain valuable insights into sustainable living. The workshop not only promotes environmental consciousness, but also fosters a sense of accomplishment as participants create unique pieces that reflect their individual style and imagination.


All materials, as well as a free lunch and refreshments will be provided.



Rock and Roll Morning Tea: Twist and Shout

Date: Tuesday 12th March 2024

Time: 10 am – 12 pm


Join us for a Rock and Roll Morning Tea for seniors, a lively event designed to transport you back in time to the golden era of jukeboxes and dance – 50s and 60s. You will find yourself grooving to the beats of classic R’N’R tunes while indulging in a delightful morning tea. We encourage you to wear your poodle skirt, leather jacket or slicked-back hair!  This event will surely be a nostalgic journey through time, encouraging everyone to twist and shout and celebrate the enduring spirit of rock and roll.



Murder Mystery: The Balmy Bahamas Cruise

Date: Wednesday 20th March 2024

Time: 12 pm – 2.30 pm


Are you an amateur sleuth? Do you enjoy a dash of intrigue? Then join us for an afternoon of mystery, mayhem, and a touch of glamour as you become part of this immersive whodunit experience.

Prepare for unexpected twists and confusion, camaraderie, and laughter as you work together to uncover the clues and crack the case. Our Murder Mystery is an interactive experience that will keep you guessing until the very end.


Free lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Join a free Creative Networking Event for the Reclaiming My Place Healing & Recovery Project . About the Reclaiming My Place Project: Reclaiming My Place (RMP) is an innovative arts-based program developed by the Centre of Excellence for Equity in Higher Education (CEEHE) at the University of Newcastle. The program engages women who have lived experiences of gendered violence and interrupted education journeys, using creative arts to foster mindfulness, healing, relaxation, and pathways to lifelong learning.
